- Amani Mwasera is a Kenyan actor born and raised in Nairobi. Amani began his journey two years ago (2021), where he joined THE WORLD MONOLOGUE GAMES, a global acting competition held for countries around the world to compete and showcase the talents. He trained under his mentor and friend Fanuel Mulwa alongside the veteran actor Morris Mwangi. Amani represented the Aria conservatoire and managed to come in 4th place in his category and 11th of a larger global scale making him a GLOBAL FINALIST of 2021 at the games. Later in the year, Amani was successfully cast in his first picture (film), by Protel Studios project helmed by Jamal Kibet Collins, by the name of HALF CHANCE. Amani took on the mantle of the character 'SODI' , a two faced morbid wannabe rapper struggling with his past. the film never aired due to production hiccups. In the following year (2022) Mwasera was later cast in his next picture by MultiChoice Talent factory directed by Bruno Tanya under the project name 'STINGER' where Mwasera played 'ZIRA' a more lover boy character away from a dark tone. the film premiered on Showmax and Maisha Magic Movies. Not long after this Amani made his theatrical debut in sacred space of theatre. A place that set him in real motion as an actor. He starred in the Stuart Nash production 'MSTINJI the MISER' in the infamous role of the effeminate playboy rascal -'HARRISON MAKASI'. This was by far his most transformative role yet. Amani altered his body, hair, voice and language that he uses in his normal life to play the character. A rather bold step with keen authorized supervision from his director and mentor Stuart Nash and Fanuel Mulwa respectively.
He has since moved on to perform the play (Mstinji the Miser) ,under the management of Alliance Francaise and The French Embassy, across mutliple cities in the country (Kisumu, Mombasa and Nakuru) alongside the stellar cast consisting of Psenjen Sam, Dru Muthure, Angel Waruinge , Suzanne Karani and more! He as well undertook French classes to prepare for his role as Harrison from Mwalimu John Sibi Okumu whom monitored his French progress.
Amani Mwasera prides himself in learning as much as he can as well as pushing boundaries in terms of how he approaches characters on a wider scope to determine how best to portray a character.
He trained with The Nairobi Performing Arts Studio in his first year (2020) where he learnt how to channel his strengths and use his weaknesses to his advantage.
