A 2 time award winning actor, Joe Kinyua gained interest in the arts in his early primary school days, but it wasn’t until 2008, that he decided to leave his accounting job and become an actor. He started attending auditions and got his first role that same year in a play by a traveling theatre group, something that marked his official entry into acting and exit from accounting.
He has since grown to be a familiar face in Kenyan TV, where he has featured in Guy Center, Changes, How to find a husband, Lies That Bind, Briefcase Inc, News just in, Sue na Johnnie, and most recently, Njoro wa Uba.
Joe has also done some adverts, Zain, Enovia, The East African, Crown Paints, Fanta, Old Mutual I-invest and Kenya Orient Insurance to name a few.
In addition to Kenyan films (Strata, See Them Blind, Run Honeymooners, Hamsini & High School Reunion), Joe was also cast in the 2013 Hollywood blockbuster, The Fifth Estate.
Joe has a love for both stage and screen acting and has also acted with FCA, Phoenix Players, The Friends Ensemble and Sling & Stone Mavuno, Back to Basics, and Behind the Scene Productions on various stage productions.
